You would think that you would at least post your picture in the avatar space so we could remember what you look like before you leave on this epic journey.

The day started off bad. A couple from Cadillac that were riding with Al Green's group ahead of the MichCanSka riders awoke to find that their sleds had been stolen. Two cats. That really sucks! Ruined their snowmobile vacation. Next we got to the I-500 track to find piles of snow blocking our way. Finally a big payloader got there to push a hole thru it so we could circle the track. A few sleds overheated. The city mayor and others gave a talk and wished us well. At that point Dave Low and I turned around and headed back to the motel as I had to drive my rig to Curtis and Dave had to drop off a borrowed sled at Fish and Hunt. Dave picked me up and we were off for Seney. Back at the motel the guy driving Bill Bradford's chase truck went to hook up the trailer and discovered that the lock was still on the hitch and Bill was long gone with keys in his pocket! Get out the grinder!! Soon he had it off! The weather was snowy and some freezing rain. Dave thought that I needed to drive even though it was HIS day to drive! We finally got to Ishpeming about 4pm. We got on line and checked the progress of the riders and discovered that they were just East of wetmore. That means 3-4 hours out! It is now 7:30 and they are still not here. Just checked their progress again and see that they are nearing Marquette. They should be here within the next 45 minutes. No "help" messages from the group, that is good. Guess I'll go sit in the hot tub for awhile.

8:30 PM The entire group is here safe and sound. The weather was rotten in the afternoon and evening, snow mixed with freezing rain. Some of the trails were beat up pretty bad from the long weekend of sledding. Most all the riders are sore, a little wet and very tired. Now they will head for supper across the parking lot. Thank God all are well. Approximately 241 miles covered. A very long day for them.

A rather uneventful day. The riders were up and on the trail at 8am. About 4 inches of new snow last night. It was still snowing when they left. Temp was 23 degrees. I drove chase truck today as I was the official driver for today. The roads were snow covered and slippery till about 3pm. They got better as we traveled west. The trails were smooth and the riders said that it was a fun day of snowmobiling. Makes up for yesterday. A great lunch was served at Bergland. Even David Low thought it was a bargain!!! All made it to Ashland WI. without any problems. Not many riders on the trails. Many well wishers waving as the caravan of trucks and trailers (7) travel through the small towns along the way. Tomorrow I FINALLY get to ride my sled and I can't wait. Today the sledders covered about 200 miles. Tomorrow will be 200+ as we will end up at Grand Rapids Minn. This is beginning to be a fun trip as everyone seems to be getting to know each other better. Lots of joking and kidding. Snowmobilers are great people!

Rode 235 miles today. A great day on the trails. Left Ashland at 8:30am and ate lunch at Moose Lake Minn. The trails were great. Mostly rode railroad grades all day. Fast and smooth all day. Lots of sun. Just a great day of snowmobiling. We did go on a 30 mile adventure that wasn't planned. Our leader missed a turn on the trail and we traveled 15 miles before he realized we were going in the wrong direction. Back tracked the 15 miles. I had called a friend in Grand Rapids Minn. on my cell phone to come meet us on the trail and lead us to our motel. A little after dark he found us and got us to our "home away from home". Thanks lee! We had one sled break down about 5 miles from the motel so he got towed. Will take it to the YAMAHA dealer in the morning. My sled is finally getting broke in as now my mileage is up to 16mpg on the last fill up. When I got gas in Moose Lake it took 9.5 gallons in my 10 gallon tank!! The trails today looked like those in the U.P., flat wooded areas that trains traveled years ago. A great day and a great ride!

The group rode 295 miles today. A beautiful suuy day to ride. The trails were good for the most part. However the second half of the day was very tiring as we had a lot of "ditch banging" to do. We are in the flat prairie lands of northern Minn. and the trails run along the sides of the roads, in the ditches, but are groomed. But every farm field entrance, every driveway, and road crossing you must either go around or up and over. This gets very tiring in a very short amount of time. The land is flat for far as the eye can see. Snow is sparse in a few areas but overall about a foot deep. We are in Hallock Minn. tonight. Rode past the Arctic Cat plant in Thief River Falls today. Thought they would offer us Hot tea and a donut but it didn't happen. Out of 30 riders there is only 2 AC"s. Dick Woodhuff got his Yama back running today and will be riding tomorrow. Hopefully the trails will get better for tomorrow. No break downs and no injuries today. My body is sore!!!! Driving the truck again Saturday sounds like a plan!!

The third and final group was to depart today from the Soo, so what you saw should have been correct.
